On May 23, the new Volkswagen ID. UNYX 06 was officially launched. This time, two pure electric models were introduced. The body length, width, and height are 4663mm, 1860mm, and 1617mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2766mm, positioning it as a compact SUV.
In terms of exterior, the new Volkswagen ID. UNYX 06 has not undergone major changes. The U-shaped light-shadow headlights, gold illuminated badge, semi-hidden door handles, fastback coupe styling, and continuous taillights remain unchanged. The main addition is the "Jiangye Blue" paint color, standard matrix LED integrated headlights, 20-inch Shadow Blade sport wheels, and the rear brakes have been upgraded to disc brakes.
The interior of the new Volkswagen ID. UNYX 06 has been comprehensively upgraded, equipped with a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, a 15-inch 2K central control screen, a 12-inch front passenger entertainment screen, and a 27-inch AR HUD, supporting cross-screen interaction and customized HMI interfaces. It is powered by the MediaTek 8676 chip and the all-new VW OS infotainment system, with a built-in Zhipu Qingyan large model AI assistant, supporting four-zone voice recognition for front and rear rows, wake-free operation, and "see and say" functionality. In addition, it is equipped with 50W front-row wireless fast charging, V2L external discharge, 360° panoramic camera, dashcam, and integrated sport seats.
In terms of intelligent assisted driving, the new Volkswagen ID. UNYX 06 is based on the "Xingyun Zhixing" system built on Volkswagen's CEA architecture plus the Horizon Journey 6M chip. The pure vision solution supports highway NOA navigation assistance, enabling autonomous lane changes, overtaking, and entering/exiting ramps on highways and urban expressways. In addition, all trims come standard with full-speed adaptive cruise control, lane centering assist, various collision warnings and automatic emergency braking, door opening warnings, and other assistance functions.
In terms of power, the new Volkswagen ID. UNYX 06 is equipped with a 170 kW rear-mounted motor, with a maximum torque of 350 N·m, a battery capacity of 59.9 kWh, and a CLTC range of 528 kilometers.
Xiao Tang's view: After the interior redesign of the new Volkswagen ID. UNYX 06, a front passenger entertainment screen and AR-HUD have been added, and the infotainment chip and operating system have also been updated. Voice and smoothness have improved noticeably, which should bring more direct experience enhancements in daily use. All trims support highway NOA navigation-assisted driving and are equipped with 360° surround-view cameras. The chassis tuning remains Volkswagen's solid style, and the turning radius is small, making it agile to drive. Overall, this facelift has addressed some previous shortcomings in equipment. However, this vehicle faces many competitors in its segment, and its final market performance will depend on consumers' acceptance of the brand and the actual delivery experience.
